Nadia Residence

With an unorthodox approach to designing residential building in Salwa, Nadia Residence combines the intimacy of a typical Kuwaiti neighbourhood with an active public life of an apartment complex. Consisting of multiple apartments, each unit was designed uniquely to reward the users with the freedom of creating a home special to themselves. Though the interior spaces are varied, the exterior structure is systematic and exposed, being honest to its construction and materials.

The primary design feature is a multi-stepped terrace core that acts as a lively communal space, which leads to a rooftop swimming pool and kids’ playground. The core 

provides direct access to the rooftop garden and allows both natural light and ventilation to reach the core of the mass to create a better interior atmosphere.

The character of the site was respected by maintaining and preserving many of the existing trees. The landscape spills over to the sidewalk adding an urban appeal to the pedestrian.
